Last Night

Commemorating the Last Night of baseball ever at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri. All posters signed by the photographer and dated 10/19/05.
"Busch Stadium for years stood as one of the finest examples
of modern civic architecture in St. Louis, a companion piece to the
Arch. This photograph immortalizes the grace and materiality of the
exposed structure as well as the circular motif formed into the
delicate concrete eave. Few were aware that the stadium plan in itself
was a pure circle and that the design architect, Edward Durrell Stone,
repeated that form as a detail, thereby demonstrating that modern
architecture could be interpreted in ways as rich and varied as what
people generally associate with more historic styles so prevalent in
this city."
