HAS THE PERFECT BASEBALL SCOREBOOK BEEN INVENTED? NEW ISSUE FROM MARQUESS GALLERY HOLDS THE ANSWER

St. Louis, April 1, 2006 --- With the ever increasing need for more and more information from a baseball box score has come an equally pressing demand for the ultimate scorebook, something to log everything from balls and strikes to the positioning of the umpires to the start and finish times of the games.

Don Marquess, the celebrated baseball photographer, has produced the ultimate baseball scorebook - spiral bound, easy to work with, and containing room for 92 games. At the Major League level, that's enough for an entire home season and post-season contests. For levels beginning with Little League, it's enough to log an entire Little League and Babe Ruth League career.

The scorebook's front and back covers feature a magnificent photograph from the Marquess Gallery of a cluster of "The Balls of Summer," perfectly unscarred baseballs, randomly arranged, from the collection. The inside front cover features a work called "Caught!" with a beat up ball resting quietly inside an old Tony Kubek model glove. (Don Marquess' actual, lefthanded first baseman's glove).

The scoresheet design was done by Tammy Gazaway.

Don Marquess has developed a photo style in which elements of the game of baseball - bats, bases, gloves, and primarily the baseballs themselves - are captured in a still life form in the highest grade photographic process. Marquess shoots with 50 ASA film in natural light, without a tripod, producing prints that approximate 95 megapixels in quality - about six times greater than a digital camera produces.

He operates the popular Marquess Gallery in Union Station, St. Louis, a frequent stop for visiting teams and Cardinal players who stay in downtown hotels. A number of Marquess works will be hung in the new Busch Stadium, and a national gallery tour of the work will begin later this year.
